Altay

There is a legend telling us that the word “Altai” originates from the Mongolian colloquial word. Being roughly translated, it means “a country of mountains with alpine meadows and nomads located in the highlands”.

Mountain Altai attracts tourists from all over the CIS and many other countries. Here, you will find unique parks, lakes and nature reserves that are listed as the natural heritage of UNESCO. There are as many as five such objects in this region at the same time! These are “Altai – Golden Mountains”, Altai and Katun State Biosphere Nature Reserves, Ukok Quiet Zone Natural Park, Belukha Natural Park and Teletskoye Lake, “Rakhmanov Klyuchi”.

Many people call Altai the Siberian treasury. Amazing natural places have been preserved here, not touched by the destructive human hand. For example, waterfalls with waters sparkling in the sun by all the rainbow colors or huge granite rocks and cliffs amaze with their grandeur. And these are complimented with magnificent lakes and rivers boiling with energy. The ringing you hear when the water hits the pebbles is an unparalleled melody of the nature.

Altai is worth visiting to see the sites that are considered the key ones to the planet’s history and culture. Here, there are unique monuments of the ancient art – petroglyphs, which were created by craftsmen of the Bronze Age. The local stone stelas, balbals, granite, stone and clay buildings are magnificent.

You should keep in mind that Altai is not only an interesting and incredibly rich land. This is an amazing mysterious land, whose mysteries are still not revealed. It can’t be called a traditional tourist place. Only here you can visit the territory, which is completely ruled by the nature, and not by humans. And you are the oneto choose a trip.
